GENERAL INQUIRIES
Each walk is different! One may be a casual stroll, while another may have a specific purpose. Route lengths will vary, as well. Details specific to each walk will be posted on its own page. The answers below are to general questions we've received.
Does it cost anything to participate?
Nope! However, if the event is a fund raiser, you may be asked to bring a donation, or collect donations on behalf of the charity. We'll always let you know beforehand, if so!
Do I have to sign up or RSVP before the event?
Nope, not for most events. We'll let you know if there's any type of registration, but it would more than likely be required on arrival, rather than in advance. So yeah, for most events, just show up.
However, if you have time to send an email, we'd certainly appreciate it! We like hearing from other zombies and it will be exciting to know that more of you are out there.
The suspense is killing us.
Oh, wait..
Do I have to wear a costume?
Yep! Unless you already look like a zombie.
You don't necessarily have to come as a certain character [i.e., doctor, mechanic, etc.] but you should at least look like a zombie, even if you wear jeans and a T-shirt and just go nuts with the fake blood. For simple suggestions of things to do to look ZOMBIFIED, check out this web site! Wanna take it a step further than simple? Then proceed with caution to this web site instead.
Is this an '18 & over' or '21 & over' event?
Nope! (again, if it is, we'll let everyone know in advance) Come one, come all! Though if you are bringing children to the walk, don't think you can drop them off and consider this your afternoon break. Get your decaying posterior into some zombie attire and join them in the fun!
Besides....
Unattended children may be eaten.
Yes, if we get THAT hungry, we may turn into cannibal zombies.
Hey.. it's happened.
How long will the walk be? I'm a lazy zombie!
Depends! Be sure to check the upcoming events page for specific details on any given event, but in general: Walks usually last around a half hour, but that's not in human walking time, so it's half the distance of a half hour human walk.. therefore equaling a 15 minute human walk.
Get it?
No?
Try this:
x = human walking time
y = zombie walking time
x divided by 2 equals y
therefore, y, which in this case = 1/2 hour, is also = to x equaling 15 minutes.
That help?
Good.
Route info will be provided to zombies upon his or her arrival!
Why are you doing this anyway?
Because it's fun, because we can, and because I said so.
Not enough?
We can do that because we are the factory?
Still no?
Okay then.
Because you're worth it.
Zombie Walk Detroit is wholly dedicated to scaring up ZOMBIE ADVENTURE at any given moment. And we mean ANY.
When it starts getting close to Halloween, people almost expect Zombies. (Don't you?) So we'll have events all year 'round.
After all, wouldn't it be a whole lot freakier for folks to see a band of formerly-living coming at them in June ?
(so rest in pieces, there will be always be more than just one per year.... you have our word on it!)
(crikey! could we have thrown any more television advertising catch-phrases in there?)
Get on our mailing list if you'd like to be kept up on the happenings of Zombie Walk Detroit! It's the best way!
When is ZWD's next walk, you ask?
Check out the upcoming events page for, well...
